Scott and Tereza have lived and worked in Maryland, Oregon, Hawaii, and New Zealand, where they have practiced their skills in a wide range of settings. This has also added a unique perspective on communication, team dynamics, and diversity.

In a code situation, the first pulse to check is your own. Scott Carpenter has been checking his own pulse in code situations - and assisting co-workers in checking theirs- for 18 years. He has a Bachelor's degree in nursing, has been a Certified Emergency Nurse for fifteen years, and has worked in multiple trauma centers around the world.
Scott is an American Heart Association ACLS and BLS instructor, and enjoys teaching CPR and First Aid one to one, as well as working with larger groups.
Scott also serves on the U.S. board of directors for Sterile Processing Education Charitable Trust. SPECT is an international charity focused on providing health education in third world countries. Check it out at: http://www.spectrust.org/
Scott enjoys backpacking, surfing, diving, and traveling when possible.

Tereza Carpenter has been a Registered Nurse for 18 years, having graduated valedictorian in her class. Prior to this, she was an LPN for 10 years. She has worked in the emergency department, ICU, and extensively with pre- and post-operative cardiac patients. Tereza has also been a top performer in the ambulatory care environment.
Tereza is an American Heart Association BLS instructor, and has extensive teaching experience with certified nursing assistants. Additionally, she teaches wellness courses, including our Aspects of Drug and Alcohol Use course. She enjoys public speaking, where she has a polished and crisp presentation. Tereza has won the Frederick County Medical Society award for excellence in clinical nursing. She has also won national public speaking awards.
Tereza enjoys volunteering, hiking, backpacking, running, and traveling.
